About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Morphix handles information when you use our website and Version 1.0 image optimisation tools. Morphix is designed to minimise the amount of information that needs to leave your browser.

Image processing

Image conversion, resizing, compression, filename editing and ZIP preparation are designed to take place in your browser. Your image files are not intentionally uploaded to Morphix servers for these routine optimisation operations.

AI filename generation

AI filename generation is optional. When you choose to use it, Morphix sends the information needed to create filename suggestions to our configured AI provider. In Version 1.0 this may include your project description, main keyword and original image filenames.

Morphix does not currently send the actual image files to the AI provider for filename generation.

Our current AI provider is Google Gemini. If Morphix is operating using Gemini's unpaid API service, Google may process submitted content and generated responses to provide, improve and develop its products and services. Google states that human reviewers may also process some API input and output for quality purposes.

Do not include passwords, API keys, private credentials, sensitive personal information, confidential business information or other information that is not necessary for generating an image filename.

Website code

Code that you paste into the Morphix website-code updater is processed as part of the browser workflow and is not sent to the AI filename-generation service as part of the normal Version 1.0 process.

You should nevertheless avoid entering passwords, API keys, database credentials, access tokens or other secrets into Morphix.

Usage protection and service limits

To protect the free AI service from automated abuse and excessive usage, Morphix uses technical identifiers and usage counters.

These may include an anonymous browser identifier, a privacy-protected representation of your IP address, the number of AI requests made and the number of images submitted for AI filename generation.

These records are used for rate limiting, daily usage limits, monthly service limits, security and abuse prevention. Morphix does not use these identifiers to create advertising profiles.

Cookies and similar storage

Morphix may set an essential browser identifier used to enforce fair-use and security limits for AI features. Google Analytics may also use cookies or similar technologies to measure website usage. The Morphix AI usage identifier is not intended for advertising or behavioural tracking.

Third-party services

Morphix currently relies on third-party services to provide certain features, including Google Gemini for optional AI filename generation, Upstash Redis for usage protection and service limits, and Google Analytics for website usage measurement.

Those providers process information according to their own privacy, security and service terms.

Analytics and advertising

Morphix uses Google Analytics to understand how the website is used and to help improve the service. Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, referral source and general interaction data.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies for measurement. Morphix does not use its AI usage identifier to create advertising profiles, and Version 1.0 does not use that identifier for behavioural advertising.

If Morphix introduces advertising or additional non-essential tracking in the future, this policy will be updated where required.

Data security

Morphix uses reasonable technical measures to protect its services, including server-side API keys, usage limits and abuse protection. However, no internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

Morphix may update this Privacy Policy as the service develops, including when new AI providers, analytics, accounts, paid plans or integrations are introduced. The effective date shown above will be updated when material changes are made.
